L'OREAL BRANDSTORM

L’Oréal Brandstorm is a global innovation challenge aimed at shaping the future of beauty-tech.
The 2024 mission was to reinvent the future of professional beauty through technology, focusing on three key areas: online-offline (O+O) experiences, augmented services, and innovative e-commerce models. As a team of three, we developed a concept and produced a video responding to this brief.
We developed the idea of a La Roche-Posay Mirror Consultant, a tech-enabled mirror placed in beauty stores where customers can scan their skin, understand their skin condition, and receive tailored product suggestions. The concept bridges professional expertise with augmented diagnostics to create a more engaging and personalised in-store journey.
-
Conducted in - depth research on the brand's position to propose the idea for the video.
-
Collaborated with the team to conceptualise the video idea.
-
Storyboarded the video, worked closely with the cameraman, video editor, and model to ensure the final video follows the brief.

Our Team
Although our team did not win an award, participating in this competition was extremely valuable. It pushed me to think more creatively and manage multiple tasks under pressure. Throughout the process of researching consumer insights, developing a tech-driven concept, and producing a full video pitch, I strengthened my research skills, creative thinking, and teamwork skills.
"OPEN TO DIFFERENCES" EVENT

After days of discussion, our team came up with an idea of a conference and game format for the event. The “conference” section featured marketing materials, including an information board about the event and HVE. In the “game” section, each activity included a short English lesson designed to reduce students’ fear of learning English. With this approach, students did not feel pressured or bored, and the format encouraged more curiosity and natural engagement with the event.
"Open to Differences" is a partnership event between Ha Vu English AZ (HVE) and UniDesign (an established school for creative and art), organised by HVE. The aim was to increase brand awareness among UniDesign students, attracting 100 attendees and encouraging 40 students to enrol in our courses.
Our main challenge was figuring out how to attract creative students like UniDesign's students and keep them engaged until the end of the event, so we could introduce our courses.

RESULTS
-
The event attracted over 100 students, meeting our attendance goal.
-
However, we did not reach the target of 40 student enrolments.
Although we did not meet the goal, I am grateful to have been part of the core team for this event, especially since it was one of my first times working with such a large-scale partner. The experience taught me how to communicate and coordinate effectively with a bigger organisation. As a small team of only five staff and two managers, delivering this event was a real milestone. It strengthened my teamwork and time management skills, improved my ability to support event set-up, and increased my confidence in managing collaborative projects.
